No, our pool is not saltwater. As we are a private facility we do not have the through flow of most public pools so we can have a cleaner pool with less chlorine. The water quality is tested 4 times per day with bi-weekly services from an outside company specialising in water quality and treatment.
Our pool is heated to a toasty 32.3 degrees which is perfect for our younger swimmers and winter swimming.
We have a female, male and disabled/family change room facilities. For infants parents we have 4 change tables; 1 in all change rooms and 1 on pool deck. Change rooms can get very busy on the weekends, so if you live locally it may sometimes be easier to shower at home.
Yes, we offer public swimming from Monday to Friday between 6 and 8 am during the school terms only. All swimming during this time is supervised by a qualified life guard. We have a pay as you go options, $5 for general public, $4 for RFC members, or you can purchase 10 pass for $40 general public or $32 for RFC members or Klim Swim customers.
There is a strict no public or play swimming rule at all other times.
All instructors must have a minimum Swim Australia (SAT) or Austswim (Teacher of Water Safety) qualification, in addition to a current CPR and Working with children check. For instructors taking specialised classes such as infants and adults further specialised qualifications are required before they can take a class independently.
Yes! We don’t believe in holding a child in a level that no longer serves them, or wasting your money. When your child’s instructor feels they are ready to move up they will notify customer service to assess their ability, discretely. If they are ready, we will write them a certificate on the spot and come and talk to you about finding a new class for them immediately.
Yes, there is parking most of the time at Klim Swim. We share the pool and carpark with the Richmond Football Club and therefore before 4 pm, and some weekends the carpark is used for player and staff parking for training and game days. We send out a document at the start of the year with all days and times that parking may be disrupted, and we also keep a hard copy on pool deck. During important training and game days the car park may be unavailable between certain hours. To ensure you keep up to date with this information, please ensure we have you most frequently used email and phone number and keep us updated of any changed contact details.
It is the customer’s responsibility to keep their contact details up to date to ensure they receive notifications from us. We will communicate any urgent cancelations via text, and all other correspondence is via email. Please see customer service on pool deck to update these.
All swimmers under 3 years old MUST wear an aqua nappy. In the past we have had to cancel all lessons when a little ‘accident’ happens in the pool so we can have it cleaned. Cancelling all further lessons comes at a large cost to the swim school, therefore the cost of the cleaning and call out will be the responsibility of the parents of the ‘poo culprit’.
Caps are compulsory for all children over 3 years old (optional for children under 3 years old). This reason is 3 fold, it keeps your child’s head warm, clean and stops hair balls accumulating in the water. Polyester, Latex and silicon caps can be purchased at the office.
Other than essentials such as your bathers, goggles and cap (nappy if under 3 YO or not toilet trained), you do not need to bring anything for your lesson. We supply kick boards, noodles, fins, toys etc. However, if your child is having separation issues, sometimes it is nice to bring their favourite toy for them to play with during their lesson.
All customers are eligible to make up 2 absences every term, so long as you have called or email notifying customer service that you will not be attending on a particular day. As much notice as possible is appreciated, however for sudden illness we can make an exception. If you have used up your 2 make up lessons and have further illness/issues stopping you from swimming, simply provide a valid medical certificate with dates to be absent from swimming and we will happily transfer your lessons to the following term or refund you the remaining amount.
As we lease the pool off the Richmond Football Club we cannot use the carpark during the day to ensure there are enough spaces for the Football staff and players to park.
